Preparing for your online consultation

A short, practical checklist so your video consultation with a D-Coramed verified doctor is calm, quick and useful — whether it is your first appointment or a routine follow-up.

Six steps before your appointment

  1. 1. Book and confirm your slot

Choose a verified doctor, pick a time that suits you and complete payment. Your confirmation email carries the consulting room link and the exact start time.

  2. 2. Test your device 10 minutes early

Use a quiet, well-lit room. Check that your camera and microphone work, allow browser permissions, and stay on stable Wi-Fi or a strong mobile signal.

  3. 3. Write down your symptoms

Note when your symptoms started, how they have changed, and anything that makes them better or worse. A short written list keeps the consultation focused.

  4. 4. Gather medicines and past results

Keep your current medicines, allergies, and any recent laboratory or scan results within reach so your doctor can review them during the call.

  5. 5. Have your details ready

Keep your D-Coramed profile number and a valid ID nearby. Your doctor may confirm your identity before discussing clinical information.

  6. 6. Join the encrypted consulting room

Open the consultation link from your appointments page at the scheduled time. Your doctor joins the same private room — nothing is recorded without your consent.

After the consultation

Your visit summary, any e-prescription and any laboratory request appear in your portal within minutes. You can download a branded PDF of your records at any time, share it with another clinician, or book a follow-up with the same doctor. Every access to your clinical record is logged and cannot be edited or erased.

Frequently asked questions

How long does an online consultation last?
Most consultations run for 15 to 30 minutes, depending on the slot length your provider has set. Complex reviews may take longer.
Can I get a prescription after the call?
Yes. Your doctor can issue an e-prescription that appears in your prescriptions page and can be sent to a partner pharmacy. Controlled and narcotic medicines cannot be prescribed online under MDCN rules.
What if my internet drops during the consultation?
Rejoin the same consulting room link. Your doctor stays in the room and the chat history is preserved, so you can continue where you stopped.
Is an online consultation suitable for an emergency?
No. D-Coramed is not an emergency service. For chest pain, heavy bleeding, breathing difficulty or any life-threatening symptom, go to the nearest hospital emergency department immediately.
Who can see my health information?
Only you and the clinicians involved in your care. Records are stored under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and every clinical access is written to an immutable audit log.
